Turkiye Defense Industry Showcases Cutting-Edge Infantry Systems at IDEF’23

Military Turkey Daily News Services

Düzce, Turkiye – The International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF’23), held in Istanbul last month, served as a vibrant platform for Turkiye’s burgeoning defense industry to showcase its latest advancements in infantry systems. Domestic manufacturers stole the spotlight with an array of innovative rifles, optics, night vision equipment, and protective gear, capturing the attention of military personnel and defense experts alike.

MKE Impresses with Enhanced Submachine Gun and Diverse Arsenal

Leading the charge was Machinery and Chemical Industry (MKE), renowned for its robust firearms. Their expansive booth unveiled the much-anticipated revamped MOT-919 submachine gun, featuring a slimmer, more ergonomic forend and a lighter stock for enhanced comfort and maneuverability. MKE’s established offerings, including the MAM-15, MMT machine gun, and MPT-76MH rifles, were also on display, alongside their ongoing deliveries of KN-12, MPT-55, and Bora-12 models. Completing the showcase were MKE’s medium-caliber weapons, including the 40mm grenade launcher and the M2 machine gun.

KALEKALIP Unveils Next-Gen Machine Guns with Unmatched Versatility

KALEKALIP, another Turkiye defense powerhouse, made waves with its next-generation KMG556CL and KMG762CL machine guns. These weapons, recently unveiled at IDEX in the United Arab Emirates, impressed with their short-barreled designs (10.5-inch for KMG556CL) and foldable stocks, ensuring optimal portability and user comfort. The KMG556CL, weighing a mere 5.6 kg (3 kg lighter than its standard counterpart), boasts a foldable stock adjustable to five positions and an effective range of 400-600 meters. Its impressive firing rate of 750-1000 rounds per minute is facilitated by a long-stroke gas piston system. The KMG762CL, mirroring its counterpart’s features, offers optional 16-inch barrel length and chrome-plated cold-forged steel barrel for extended service life. Both guns boast extensive picatinny rails for customization with optics, flashlights, and lasers, and operate with long-pulse gas piston systems. KALEKALIP further fortified its presence with its KCR556, KSR50, KSR338, and KCR739 weapons on display.

MERTSAV Shines with Diverse Arsenal and Police-Approved Machine Guns

MERTSAV’s comprehensive lineup of machine guns, assault rifles, grenade launchers, submachine guns, and sniper rifles captivated the audience. Their MAR556 assault rifle, available in 14.5, 11, and 7.5-inch barrel lengths, garnered significant interest. The company also proudly debuted its MSR223 and MSR308 rifles, distinguished by their mono-block bodies crafted from a single piece of metal. MERTSAV’s arsenal was further bolstered by the MMG556 machine gun, TAC40 grenade launcher, and MP5 submachine gun. The MMG556, powered by a long-stroke gas piston system and featuring picatinny rails and a telescopic stock, was available in three barrel lengths (13, 13.7, and 18.3 inches). Notably, MERTSAV delivered 1000 MMG556 machine guns and 1000 TAC40 grenade launchers to the Turkiye Ministry of Internal Affairs’ General Directorate of Security, specifically equipping the Police Special Operations Department (PÖH).
