STM 500 Submarine
STM’s STM 500 Submarine is a state-of-the-art shallow water diesel-electric attack submarine designed to deliver unmatched performance in diverse operational environments. Engineered for both surface and submarine warfare, the STM 500 is capable of enduring a crew of 22, along with 8 special forces personnel, for up to 30 days at depths exceeding 200 meters.
Equipped with four weapon tubes capable of deploying a variety of modern heavyweight torpedoes, guided missiles, and mines, the STM 500 is built for versatile engagement. It features a Diving Chamber that allows the simultaneous deployment of 8 Special Forces personnel, making it ideal for covert operations.
The submarine is also equipped with advanced sensors and weapons, including a Combat Management System, Navigation Radar, Optronic Search and Attack Periscopes, Torpedo Countermeasures (Decoys-Jammers), and an array of sonar systems like CAS, CTA, MAS, IDRS, and ONA. Its maximum speed of 18 knots, cruising speed of 5 knots, and a range of approximately 3500 nautical miles ensure operational effectiveness in various maritime missions.
With a displacement of 563 tons surfaced and 635 tons submerged, the STM 500 is compact yet formidable, measuring 47 meters in length, 4.6 meters in diameter, and 9.8 meters in height. The submarine’s propulsion is driven by a Permanent Excited Propulsion Motor, powered by 2x Diesel Generators, and supported by Lithium-Ion Batteries with an optional AIP System.
The STM 500 also provides comprehensive accommodation for its crew, including a dedicated area for special forces personnel, CO’s Cabin, galley, cold room, mess room, and WCs, ensuring comfort during extended missions.
